ICP DAS USA’s mining solutions are used for local and remote monitoring and control of conveyors, fans, air purifiers, air pollution, gases, vibration, temperature and humidity. They provide alerts for hazardous conditions and allow for remote operation of machinery and tracking personnel.
These systems integrate industrial controllers, remote I/O modules, and SCADA software to collect real-time environmental and equipment data from across the site.
Unmanned mining vehicles facilitate automated extraction of gold ore from the mine. A C# program utilizing a Microsoft Semantic Kernel SDK and LiDAR SDK for building intelligent AI agents runs in the WP-8421-CE7 WinPAC Programmable Automation Controller. The program allows for unmanned mining vehicle control, monitoring, route optimization, autonomous decision making and gold ore extraction. Proximity sensors put out 4-20mA signals to an I-87017W analog input module plugged into WP-8421-CE7. The I-87052W-G digital I/O module allows for using actuators and turning crushers on and off. The AR-200 with iSN-701-F15-L030 sensors allow for monitoring vibration.
The DL-1038 records temperature, humidity and air quality including PM1, PM2.5, PM10, CO and CO2. Measurements are recorded in a log and alarms are triggered when the air quality is outside of required levels. The relay output on DL-1038 is triggered when air quality is outside safe levels and activates ventilation and air filter systems.

Ore is extracted from mines and transported to the surface with a system of conveyors. After blasting, drilling and loading, gold bearing rock is crushed into manageable sizes and placed onto conveyor belts for transport out of the mine. VPD-173N Touch Screen PLC’s and Variable Frequency Drives are used to operate the conveyors. AVEVA Edge SCADA software is used with the system to allow for remote monitoring and control through phone apps and web browsers.
Mining operations require reliable automation, environmental monitoring, and remote control systems to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity. ICP DAS USA’s mining solutions are used for local and remote monitoring and control of conveyors, fans, air purifiers, air pollution levels, gases, vibration, temperature, humidity, and heavy equipment. These systems provide real-time alerts for hazardous conditions, enable remote machinery operation, optimize vehicle routes, and track personnel across the site. By integrating industrial controllers, remote I/O modules, programmable automation controllers, and SCADA software, ICP DAS USA delivers complete monitoring and control solutions for modern mining environments.
