ICP DAS USA’s Oil & Gas control and monitoring systems utilize Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), sensors, RTUs, PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controllers) and data communication equipment to provide real-time measurements and management of upstream (wells) and midstream (pipelines) operations. Our Oil & Gas control and monitoring IoT solutions include data acquisition equipment for monitoring and control of tank volume, pressure, flow rate, temperature, vibration, valves, pumps, actuators and compressors.
Our data communication equipment allows for conversion of protocols and getting measurement and production data back over the cellular network. Our programmable controllers and SCADA software allow for automation from wellhead to pipeline.
Oil and Gas are transported for the refining process which transforms crude oil into transportation fuel, plastics, synthetic fibers, rubbers, cosmetics, lubricants, waxes and detergents. ICP DAS USA GTP-541M 4G Cellular Controllers with GPS track Tanker trucks and oil tanker ships transporting crude oil and display their location on a map on a computer running EDGEDR-01-N-23 AVEVA Edge SCADA software. A submersible hydrostatic pressure transmitter with a 4-20mA output is connected to M-7019R and provides tank level measurements. GTP-541M and M-7019R are housed in Class 1 Div 2 housing. A type K thermocouple is used for measuring crude oil temperature and is connected to M-7019R. The Modbus RTU data from M-7019R is passed to GTP-541M over the RS-485 port and passed back over the cellular network to the computer running EDGEDR-01-N-23 AVEVA Edge SCADA software which shows temperature and tank level data for each of the trucks.

ICP DAS USA’s field instrumentation collect real-time process data and open and close valves. M-7019R I/O equipment provides temperature, flow and pressure measurement. M-7024 puts out a 4-20mA analog signal for valve actuation. The tGW-715i-UL Tiny Modbus Gateway converts the Modbus RTU data from M-7019R and M-7024 to Modbus TCP and connects to a router which provides Internet connectivity. The equipment is housed in a Class 1 Division 2 enclosure. EDGEDR-01-N-23 AVEVA Edge SCADA software at a remote location displays measurements from the equipment graphically on screens, logs data, displays alerts and sends email alarms based on conditions to alert personnel. The SCADA system can be viewed remotely over a web browser or included phone app. (link phone app to the AVEVA app page).
Oil refining is an industrial process that converts crude oil into usable products through separation, conversion and treatment. Distillation involving high heat and pressure separates crude components which break it down. The crude oil parts are separated by their boiling points so the lighter part (gasoline) rises to the top and the heavier part (asphalt) stays at the bottom. Further processing breaks the parts down, allows for meeting environmental regulations and impurities are removed. M-7019R in Class 1 Div 2 housing provides temperature and tank level measurements over Modbus RTU which is displayed on AVEVA Edge SCADA software on an industrial computer.
Our tGW-715i-UL Tiny Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP gateways are used to get change prices on gas station LED signs. The signs communicate over Modbus RTU and the tGW-715i-UL takes the data and converts it to Modbus TCP for interfacing with the sign over Ethernet / Internet.
