This webinar explains how to use an OPC DA server to connect Modbus data acquisition hardware to higher-level process control and monitoring applications. It introduces OPC server concepts (server/client architecture) and shows how ICP DAS USA’s NAPOPC can collect data from Modbus RTU/TCP devices and share it with SCADA software, HMIs, and databases. In the live demonstration, a Modbus TCP I/O module is first configured on the network, then added into NAPOPC where I/O channels are organized into groups and monitored in real time. The video then walks through linking those OPC tags into InduSoft Web Studio, building a simple HMI screen, and verifying read/write control—showing how engineers can create scalable process control systems with trending, alarms, reporting, and database connectivity using OPC + Modbus.
