Modbus Redundancy I/O Systems
This webinar introduces Modbus redundancy architectures used in industrial control systems to improve reliability, uptime, and safety in continuous and mission-critical processes. It explains common redundancy strategies (cold, warm, and hot redundancy) and shows how redundancy can be applied at multiple layers—operator/SCADA level, network communications, controllers, power supplies, and field I/O. The video then focuses on ICP DAS USA redundancy-ready hardware options, including redundant Ethernet network designs (using ring or redundant switch paths) and redundant remote I/O approaches that keep field signals available even during device or communication failures. Finally, it reviews configuration concepts, monitoring utilities, and maintenance advantages like hot-swappable I/O modules to minimize downtime while maintaining synchronized operation in applications such as manufacturing lines, utilities, and infrastructure monitoring.
