This webinar introduces Motionnet, a high-speed RS-485–based motion and I/O networking protocol used to reduce wiring and simplify distributed machine automation. It explains how Motionnet connects a master controller to multiple slave modules in a daisy-chain topology, enabling fast cyclic updates for large numbers of I/O points as well as multi-axis motion control. The training then reviews ICP DAS USA Motionnet hardware options—including PCI Motionnet master cards, distributed digital I/O expansion modules for sensors and actuators, and single-axis servo motion modules designed to interface with common servo drives—highlighting how these devices support synchronized positioning, homing, and coordinated motion.
