Engineer’s Guide for Setting up a SCADA Control and Monitoring System
This training webinar is an engineer’s guide to setting up a SCADA control and monitoring system using InduSoft/Aveva Edge with Modbus TCP data acquisition hardware. It explains how SCADA projects are built from the ground up—starting with creating tags, configuring communication drivers, and organizing screens for operator use—then walks through building a simple HMI with common objects like numeric displays, buttons, and status indicators. The video demonstrates how to create real-time and historical trend charts, enable data logging (historian) and export logged data to a readable format, and configure alarm/event monitoring so operators can see when values exceed high/low limits and acknowledge alarms. It also highlights how SCADA projects can be deployed for local operation or remote viewing through web/mobile clients, making the system useful for everything from small embedded monitoring stations to larger multi-site automation and remote monitoring applications.
