FRnet Building Automation Overview

FRnet is a fieldbus technology developed by ICP DAS. It features high-speed, long-distance data transmission and is specifically designed for digital I/O control. Only two wires are required to transmit data, making installation both simple and efficient. ICP DAS USA offers more than 20 types of modules supporting FRnet, making it an ideal solution for building automation systems.
On the first floor, ICP DAS USA FRnet modules play a vital role in the automated cubic parking system, ensuring that each vehicle is parked precisely in its designated position.
On the second floor, a smoking room on the right-hand side has an independent air-conditioning system. A smoke detector in the corner sends a signal to the FRnet module when air quality drops. As soon as the FRnet module receives this signal, it activates the ventilation fans to improve air circulation.
On the third floor, FRnet modules control the lighting in the meeting room. With an instant response time, FRnet provides excellent performance in digital control applications.
On the top floor, the FRnet system monitors the status of windows and doors. If any window or door is opened, the FRnet module immediately detects it and transmits the information to the control center in real time.
All FRnet data is transmitted via two wires, keeping the installation neat and efficient. The embedded controller, I-7188EF-016, located on the left side, receives data from the FRnet modules and sends it to the control center through Ethernet. The I-7188EF-016 is equipped with two FRnet ports and can handle data from up to 16 FRnet modules simultaneously. In addition, users can develop and upload custom programs to the I-7188EF-016 to control connected FRnet modules, offering a flexible and powerful building automation solution.
