OceanWorks International Inc, ™is an independent company specializing in unmanned and manned sub-sea work systems for key international marine industries. The OceanWorks™ Houston division focuses on remote systems and includes products such as standard tooling, burial and deburial tools, and control systems. Sub-sea electronics work requires hardware that can be exposed to high pressure, up to 5,000 psi ambient pressure. OceanWorks™ looked into various solutions and products and they decided to use ICP DAS I-7000 modules. OceanWorks™ has designed OceanView ™ Control which allows the end user to configure the system through GUI (graphical user interface) so that input can be manipulated without complicated coding. After thorough testing of various products they found that ICP DAS had controllers that were the most compatible, the easiest to modify, and the most robust. The biggest factor in using ICP DAS was the functionality of the I-7000 modules. The modules were the perfect physical size, had the correct combination of features, and were convenient. The company saved at least six months because they didn’t have to write their own Active-X control. OceanWorks’ needs for the challenging subsea environment were met through the compatibility and reliability of ICP DAS modules.
