Thermal Power Control System

Case Study

ICP DAS helped implement a thermal power generation control system for monitoring and controlling HART instruments in an industrial production area in Manila, Philippines.

System Requirements

A manufacturing facility had been in operation for many years, and the increase in demand led to the expansion of production and the replacement of equipment. In order to enhance and improve production quality and quantity, ICP DAS proposed the requirement for a redundancy-based remote monitoring system. The manufacturing facility’s SCADA system collected data via Modbus, so the new system required support for the Modbus communication protocol.

Solution

The iDCS-8830 was used to replace the old equipment in the factory. The iDCS-8830 is a remote, redundant Ethernet I/O system that supports Modbus communication protocols. It allows data acquisition and control over Modbus and can be easily incorporated into the existing SCADA system. The iDCS-8830 offers redundancy, which allows for system stability and reliability. It also provides online maintenance capabilities. A large selection of cartridge based I/O modules allows for control and monitoring of the expanded system.
