Modbus TCP Based Dual Ethernet Port I/O Modules
This webinar is a practical training on Modbus TCP data acquisition using ICP DAS USA’s dual-port Ethernet Remote I/O modules for distributed monitoring and control. It starts with a quick overview of Modbus RTU vs. Modbus TCP, then focuses on the ET-7200 / PET-7200 series and how dual Ethernet ports enable daisy-chain (line) network topologies that reduce cabling and switch ports while maintaining communication with downstream modules (LAN bypass). The video reviews common module types and I/O options—including mixed analog/digital models and relay output modules—then explains key features such as power-on/safe values, security settings, watchdog protection, and I/O pairing between modules. Finally, it shows how Modbus TCP Remote I/O can be integrated with SCADA/HMI software and EZ Data Logger for real-time visualization, trending, data logging, reporting, and alarm-driven control in applications like factory automation, infrastructure monitoring, renewable energy, and security systems.
