This training webinar introduces the fundamentals of SCADA-based control and monitoring systems and shows how to connect real Modbus hardware to an HMI/SCADA project using InduSoft Web Studio. The presentation explains what SCADA is used for—building operator interfaces, displaying live measurement data, logging historical values, showing alarms/events, trending, reporting, and enabling remote access through web or mobile clients. It then reviews how data acquisition modules collect analog and digital signals, store them in register tables, and communicate those values over Modbus RTU (RS-485) and Modbus TCP (Ethernet). In the live demonstration, the presenter walks step-by-step through creating an InduSoft project, installing the Modbus TCP driver, mapping Modbus registers to tags, building a simple screen with buttons and displays, and logging data into a historian that can be exported to Excel—illustrating a complete workflow for building small-to-mid-size industrial monitoring and control applications.
