Data Acquisition with a Zigbee Wireless Network
This webinar explains how to build a Zigbee wireless data acquisition network for industrial monitoring and control when running cables is difficult or expensive. It starts with an overview of Zigbee technology—mesh networking, coordinators/routers/end devices, range considerations, and how low-power devices communicate reliably across a facility. The presentation then walks through multiple architecture options, including using Zigbee converters to bridge a wired RS-485/Modbus network over wireless, creating a fully wireless Zigbee I/O system, and using Zigbee I/O pairing to trigger outputs directly from remote inputs without a controller. Finally, the video shows how Zigbee DAQ modules can be integrated into SCADA and PC monitoring systems by linking the Zigbee network back to a wired master device, enabling centralized status monitoring, trending, alarms, reporting, and overall factory/product-line visibility.
