In this Reaction Workshop example, operators use AVEVA Edge/SCADA to monitor temperature conditions in reaction vessels and containers, as well as tank liquid levels. Real-time trend curves and alarm displays give operators the tools they need to supervise the entire reaction process.
Through the main menu, operators can easily switch between screens. Mechanical processes—such as mixing, heating, or material transfer—can be animated to visually represent workflow behavior within the workshop.
Historical trend charts allow users to review past process data by time range or tag name, with a “refresh” option to return to live data.
Alarms can be shown in multiple formats, including grids, reports, and graphical indicators. Operators can acknowledge alarms directly in the real-time alarm grid or through user-defined buttons.
For temperature-dependent production—such as furnaces, food processing, or heating stages—operators can configure time-based temperature curves as reference profiles. AVEVA can also perform PID adjustments to maintain accurate temperature control.
Data can be stored in a relational database, and engineers may access this data using SQL queries for analysis or reporting.
Users can generate real-time or historical reports, and save or print them through simple scripting within AVEVA.
