Why does my PM-3114 power meter show negative kW readings even though the electrical system is operating normally?

Negative kW readings on the ICP DAS PM-3114 power meter are typically caused by incorrect current transformer (CT) orientation or wiring sequence during installation. Each clip-on CT must be installed so that the direction of current flow follows the “K → L” arrow marked on the CT, which indicates the correct polarity for active power measurement. In addition, verify that the CT wiring follows the proper white-to-black terminal sequence on the PM-3114 input terminals (for example, CT1-K to white and CT1-L to black). If the polarity is reversed, simply swap the CT leads or flip the CT orientation, then recheck the kW readings. This issue is especially common in 1-phase, 4-wire (1P4W) and multi-phase wiring configurations, where CT polarity errors can easily result in negative active power values.
