What is the Automatic Baseline Correction (ABC) feature on the CL-200 Series, and is it enabled by default?

The Automatic Baseline Correction (ABC) function on the ICP DAS CL-200 Series CO₂ sensor compensates for long-term sensor drift by recalibrating the baseline CO₂ level to fresh outdoor air, typically assumed to be 400 ppm. When the monitored space periodically becomes unoccupied and CO₂ levels drop below the baseline threshold, the ABC algorithm adjusts the sensor reference point to maintain measurement accuracy over time.

ABC is recommended for applications such as offices, classrooms, commercial buildings, HVAC monitoring, and indoor air quality systems where CO₂ concentrations regularly return to outdoor baseline levels. ABC should not be enabled in environments where CO₂ remains elevated continuously, such as greenhouses, fermentation facilities, industrial process areas, or livestock buildings, because the sensor may incorrectly recalibrate and reduce measurement accuracy.

By default, the ABC function on the CL-200 Series is disabled. Users can enable or disable this feature through the device’s web-based configuration interface at any time.
