Data Center IIoT Turkcell Data Center

Industrial IoT in Data Centers:  Turkcell Data Center

Data centers like Turkcell store and process large volumes of critical information using servers, storage systems, network equipment, and other essential infrastructure. Any disruption caused by equipment failures, environmental issues, or unauthorized access can lead to data loss, downtime, and significant operational costs. “” Per Uptime Institute’s 2026 report, 57% of major outages cost more than $100k, and, 1 in 5 data center outages costs over $1M.”” As a result, reliable environmental monitoring and access control are essential for maintaining data center security and performance.

Monitoring large data center facilities manually can be time-consuming and inefficient. To address this challenge, ENOKSIS, an ICP DAS USA distributor in Turkey, implemented a customized environmental monitoring and access control system using ICP DAS USA’s solutions. The system enables centralized, remote monitoring and management of eight server rooms from a single location.

This case study demonstrates how the ICP DAS USA’s solution helps organizations remotely monitor multiple temperature and humidity measurement points while strengthening access control, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing data center reliability.

Success Story:

ENOKSIS equipped each of its eight server rooms with a PET-7060 PoE Ethernet I/O Module for remote access monitoring and control. ENOKSIS also installed 373 DL-100-E-W Remote Temperature & Humidity Data Loggers throughout the facility, to monitor environmental conditions.

A total of 8 PET-7060 modules and 373 data loggers were deployed. Data from all devices is sent to the control center through optical fiber, enabling staff to monitor server room conditions in real time using SCADA.

How the Solution Works:

  • The PET-7060 PoE Ethernet I/O Modules installed in each server room are powered directly by PoE switches, eliminating the need for additional power cabling. Each PET-7060 features six relay outputs and six digital inputs, enabling access control data to be exchanged with the control center via Modbus TCP. When a user successfully authenticates with their access card, the control center sends a command to the PET-7060 to unlock the door. If access is denied, the door remains locked and an alarm notification can be triggered. Through integration with the SCADA system, the solution provides reliable and centralized access control for all server rooms.
  • The DL-100-E-W Remote Temperature and Humidity Data Loggers monitor key environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, illuminance, and dew point. Supporting both Modbus TCP and MQTT, they transmit real-time data to the control center’s SCADA system for centralized monitoring. With PoE support, each DL-100-E-W requires only a single Ethernet cable for both power and data communication, simplifying installation while reducing wiring, maintenance, and overall deployment costs. The DL-100-E Series is available in black (DL-100-E) and white (DL-100-E-W). The client selected the white DL-100-E-W model to blend seamlessly with the server room’s color scheme and keep the installed devices visually unobtrusive.

Conclusion:

ICP DAS USA’s environmental monitoring solutions provide integrated server room monitoring and access control, helping maintain a secure and stable operating environment for critical equipment. With PoE-enabled devices, both power and data are delivered through a single Ethernet cable, simplifying installation while reducing wiring, maintenance, and overall deployment costs.

ICP DAS USA is committed to delivering comprehensive and customizable environmental monitoring solutions, allowing clients to select the products and communication technologies best suited to their applications. This enables seamless equipment connectivity, centralized management, and digital transformation.
