Cloud-Based Data Visualization Solution
To improve water resource management and distribution efficiency, the City of Indore operates over 250 water supply systems across a wide geographic area. Traditionally, each site used a PLC to collect sensor data such as water flow, pressure, and level, making centralized monitoring difficult.
To modernize operations while preserving the existing infrastructure, Nimbus Technologies and Chavare Engineering implemented an IoT-based solution that transmits real-time data from all 250 sites to a central monitoring center over 4G. This enables citywide remote monitoring, faster detection of water distribution issues, and access to equipment performance data for predictive maintenance and improved system reliability.
ICP DAS USA’s Cloud-Based Data Visualization Solution:
The ICP DAS USA’s solution consists of two main components: The water supply systems and the control center.

At each site, a PLC collects data on water flow, pressure, and level, then sends it to the ICP DAS USA’s WISE-5231M-4GE IIoT edge controller via Modbus RTU. The WISE-5231M-4GE transmits the data over a 4G network to the control center, where IoTstar IIoT cloud management software provides real-time monitoring of all water supply systems from a single dashboard.
The solution works like this:
At each water supply site, a PLC collects data on water flow, pressure, and level. The data is then transmitted via Modbus RTU to the ICP DAS USA’s WISE-5231M-4GE IIoT edge controller, which sends it over a 4G network to the control center. There, IoTstar IIoT cloud management software enables real-time monitoring of all water supply systems from a single platform.
The system architecture is shown below.

Conclusion:
Using ICP DAS USA’s cloud-based data visualization solution, the customer successfully implemented a remote monitoring and predictive maintenance system. Real-time visibility into system performance enables operators to quickly identify issues, determine root causes, and take preventive action to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
