At the 2011 centennial coronation of Taiwan, the Telematics Promotion Office of MOEA (Ministry of Economic Affairs) held the “Taiwan Excellent 100 on ITS/ Telematics” event for celebration and industry promotion. The event selected 100 winning entries from three categories: outstanding products, services, and technologies to show the development of the Taiwan telematics industry.
The winning product of ICP DAS is “Vehicle Service & Communication Gateway”. This device is a vehicle communication product that complies with WAVE / DSRC and IEEE802.1p/1609 vehicle communication standards. It supports high-speed mobile data transmission on the car and wireless data access within the vehicle environment.
On Board Unit (OBU) and Road Side Unit (RSU) can create communications between Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle to Road Side Unit in real driving environments. Communication protocol links with existing systems such as Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, and CAN bus can be used to trace road conditions and improve safety.
The appearance of the “Vehicle Service & Communication Gateway (OBU/RSU)” meets waterproof standards and provides strong technical integration. It implements wireless technology to support innovative automotive environments. This product shows that ICP DAS holds a leading position in R&D and design in market trends.
