Ticket Management Systems

Ticket management systems automate, centralize, and streamline the ticket management process. On-board memory allows these systems to retrieve, store, and collect data. Printers allow for ticket printing, cameras can capture images, and card readers or barcode scanners can grant access to cardholders. Cellular modems can send local data back to a central system over the internet using the cellular network. Controllers help automate the ticketing process by implementing control logic. A controller allows users to scan their card or ticket with a card reader or barcode scanner. An IP camera connected to one of the controller’s Ethernet ports can capture the user’s image, which can then be stored in the controller’s local database. The controller can look up the cardholder’s information in the database and print a ticket or receipt as needed. Data can be periodically sent back to an administrative center over the cellular network using a cellular modem.

Linux-based Programmable Automation Controllers (PACs) like the LP-8421 have expandable flash memory and come with a 1 GB microSD card for data storage. They can implement control logic for ticket management systems. The LP-8421 also has Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, and USB ports for connecting to different devices. These ports allow communication with a barcode scanner that reads tickets or a card reader that grants access. Linux PACs can also interface with IP web cameras and capture images based on events such as a door opening, a ticket being scanned, or a card being read. They include web, Telnet, SSH, and FTP servers for remote communication. Administrators can access the LinPAC through a web page or retrieve files using an FTP client. Linux-based LinPACs support operating temperatures from -25°C to 75°C, making them suitable for installation in a wide range of environments such as buses, trains, outdoor amusement parks, and stadiums.

Cellular modems like the GTM-204M-4GE allow controllers to send information such as images, ticket data, and card reader data back to an administrative center. Administrators can review stadium or facility occupancy rates and bus passenger information, helping them adjust pricing or schedules for improved efficiency and performance. The GTM-204M-4GE operates in temperatures from -25°C to 55°C, allowing use in a wide range of environments. It uses a SIM card and a data plan from a cellular provider for communication.

Ticket management systems provide automated, efficient, and streamlined ticket servicing and can help improve ticket processing in the future.
